چکیده

BACKGROUND Biological control plays a key role in reducing crop damage by Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood), which cause huge yield losses tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). The mirid predator Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) preys heavily on these pests, with satisfying levels greenhouses. Although N. is known to be attracted volatiles of plants infested T. whitefly, little about the specific attractive compounds effect prey density response. RESULTS Y-tube olfactometer bioassays revealed that attraction was positively correlated infestation, unlike infestation. also larval frass, but not honeydew or sex pheromone. Among herbivore-induced plant (HIPVs) characterised 20 larvae, monoterpenes ?-pinene, ?-phellandrene, 3-carene, ?-phellandrene ?-ocimene, whereas (E)-?-caryophyllene found repel predator. In dose–response bioassays, five-component blend attractants elicited relatively low predator, removal from enhanced resulting four-component blend, suggesting synergism among four monoterpenes. CONCLUSION These findings suggest 3-carene ?-ocimene could used as kairomone-based lure recruit for biological vaporariorum.

The role of specific tomato volatiles in tomato-whitefly interaction.

Bemisia tabaci (whitefly) infestations and the subsequent transfer of viruses are the cause of severe losses in crop production and horticultural practice. To improve biological control of B. tabaci, we investigated repellent properties of plant-produced semiochemicals. The mix of headspace volatiles, collected from naturally repellent wild tomato accessions, influenced B. tabaci initial choice...

All - Termination ( SCP )

We recently introduced the All-Termination(T ) problem: given a termination solver T and a function F , find every subset of the formal parameters to F whose consideration is sufficient to show, using T , that F terminates. These subsets can be harnessed by a theorem prover to locate and justify induction schemes, and are also useful for guiding rewriting heuristics and ensuring their terminati...

Impact of SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation and dietary cholesterol on hepatic lipid accumulation.

While a high-cholesterol diet induces hepatic steatosis, the role of intracellular sterol carrier protein-2/sterol carrier protein-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) proteins is unknown. We hypothesized that ablating SCP-2/SCP-x [double knockout (DKO)] would impact hepatic lipids (cholesterol and cholesteryl ester), especially in high-cholesterol-fed mice. DKO did not alter food consumption, and body weight (BW) ...

Three-dimensional structure/function analysis of SCP-2-like2 reveals differences among SCP-2 family members.

Mosquito sterol carrier protein-2 (AeSCP-2) and sterol carrier protein-2-like2 (AeSCP-2L2) are members of the SCP-2 protein family with similar expression profiles in the mosquito life cycle. In an effort to understand how lipids can be transported by different SCP-2 proteins, the three-dimensional crystal structure of AeSCP-2L2 was solved at 1.7 A resolution. AeSCP-2L2 forms a dimer and binds ...

SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation alters lipid raft domains in primary cultured mouse hepatocytes.

Although reverse cholesterol transport from peripheral cell types is mediated through plasma membrane microdomains termed lipid rafts, almost nothing is known regarding the existence, protein/lipid composition, or structure of these putative domains in liver hepatocytes, cells responsible for the net removal of cholesterol from the body. Lipid rafts purified from hepatocyte plasma membranes by ...
